AHI President Participates at Dodecanese Unification Celebration

BALTIMORE, MD - American Hellenic Institute President Nick Larigakis participated at an event to commemorate the 76th anniversary of the unification of the Dodecanese Islands with Greece. The event was held at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church of Baltimore on March 10, 2024.

President Larigakis offered greetings. The program also featured Ambassador of Greece to the U.S. Ekaterini Nassika, His Eminence Metropolitan Apostolos of New Jersey, Cypriot Consul General Constantinos Constantinou, Greek Defense Attaché Colonel Panagiotis Vlachopoulos, and Lt. Col. Andreas Andreou, who serves as Defense, Military, Air and Naval Attaché at the

Embassy of Cyprus. Congressional Hellenic Caucus Co-Chair Congressman Chris Pappas provided a video address. Event Organizer Georgio Comninos, who is an AHEPA Supreme Governor, served as Master of Ceremonies.

“Thank you to the organizing committee for the invitation to participate and speak about an important moment in our Hellenic history,” Larigakis said. “I commend Georgio Comninos and the Baltimore community for hosting an excellent event.”
