Rhode Island General Assembly Passes Resolution to Mark AHI’s 50th Anniversary

PROVIDENCE, RI - The American Hellenic Institute (AHI) is pleased to announce the Rhode Island General Assembly passed a resolution to celebrate the Institute’s 50th anniversary on February 8, 2024.

Rhode Island State Senators Leonidas Raptakis, Hanna Gallo, John Burke, Mark McKenney, Meghan Kallman, and Dawn Euer sponsored the resolution. The resolution’s clauses present AHI’s founding and highlights AHI’s advocacy over its 50 years of existence.

“We sincerely thank the legislators of the Rhode Island General Assembly for recognizing our record of advocating for U.S. interests in Greece, the Republic of Cyprus, the East Mediterranean, and Southeast Europe. For the last 50 years, AHI has advocated for the rule of law and contributed to strengthening U.S. relations with Greece and the Republic of Cyprus.” AHI President Nick Larigakis said. “We especially thank the resolution’s sponsors, led by State Senator Leonidas Raptakis, for their support and shepherded the resolution through the Assembly.”
