The AHIF E. John and Cleo Rumpakis Library

The American Hellenic Institute Foundation (AHIF) E. John and Cleo Rumpakis Library is a distinctive research and educational resource dedicated to preserving and advancing knowledge of Hellenism, Greece, Cyprus, and the Eastern Mediterranean.

Established through the generous support of E. John and Cleo Rumpakis, whose $175,000 gift in 2016 enabled the restoration and cataloging of the collection, the library houses approximately 2,500 books, 1,600 journals and government publications, and 400 historical documents and special collections.

The collection provides scholars, students, and the broader community with valuable primary and secondary sources for understanding the history, geopolitics, and U.S. foreign policy of the Eastern Mediterranean, including materials that are often overlooked in traditional historical accounts. The library reflects AHIF’s commitment to education, the rule of law, and strong U.S. relations with Greece and Cyprus, while preserving resources for future generations.
