WASHINGTON, D.C. — The American Hellenic Institute (AHI) congratulates AHI Board Member John Vasiliou on his election as president of the Federation of Hellenic-American Societies of Philadelphia and Greater Delaware Valley for the 2026-2027 term. Vasiliou was elected during the Federation’s June 10 meeting and will lead one of the nation’s most active Greek American community organizations.
“On behalf of AHI, I extend my warmest congratulations to John on his election as president of the Federation,” AHI President Nick Larigakis said.
“John has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep commitment to our community. His successful stewardship of Philadelphia’s Greek Independence Day Parade helped elevate the visibility and stature of the Greek American community throughout the Delaware Valley. We are proud to have him serve on AHI’s Board of Directors and know he will bring the same energy, vision, and dedication to his new role.”
Vasiliou has served on AHI’s Board of Directors and has long been active in the Greek American, Greek Orthodox, and broader civic communities. He previously served in leadership positions within the Federation and played a key role in the continued growth and success of Philadelphia’s annual Greek Independence Day celebrations.
AHI looks forward to working with John in his new role and wishes him every success as president of the Federation.
