WASHINGTON D.C. - The American Hellenic Institute (AHI) hosted its 22nd Annual Golf Classic on October 20, 2025, at the Country Club of Fairfax, bringing together supporters, sponsors, and friends of the Institute.

Moderated by President Nick Larigakis, the program began with a warm welcome from Peter Bota, tournament co-chair, followed by greetings from Paris Karasso, senior vice president at Calamos Investments.

Leon Andris, tournament co-chair, introduced guest speaker Trish Christakis, sports and news anchor with CBS News Miami. Christakis, an award-winning Greek American journalist, reflected on her experiences covering major sporting events, including the NBA Finals, the Stanley Cup Final, and Lionel Messi’s arrival to Major League Soccer. She also shared deep pride in her heritage and connection to the Hellenic community of South Florida, her hometown of Chicago, and beyond. Internationally, Christakis has extended her passion for sports to Greece, including presenting an award at the prestigious Gazzetta Awards in Athens in 2024.
