AHI Announces Two New Members of Its Board of Directors

WASHINGTON, DC — The American Hellenic Institute (AHI) is pleased to announce the addition of Peter Karounos and Constantine Sideridis to its Board of Directors, effective January 2026.
“We are honored to welcome Peter Karounos and Costa Sideridis to AHI’s Board of Directors,” AHI President Nick Larigakis said. “Each brings distinguished professional expertise, deep leadership experience, and a strong commitment to the Hellenic community. Their service will strengthen AHI’s ability to advance U.S.–Greece–Cyprus relations and advocate effectively on issues of importance to the Greek American community.”
Meet Our New Board Members
Peter Karounos is a senior executive leader in the defense industry with more than four decades of government and industry experience. He is widely recognized for his strategic vision and leadership in managing complex defense programs, including work spanning shipbuilding, nuclear submarine acquisition, and advanced defense systems. His career includes service as a senior advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Defense and the Vice President of the United States, work on Capitol Hill, and multiple senior positions within the Department of the Navy. A first-generation Greek American, Karounos has long been active in the Greek American community and has supported numerous Hellenic initiatives and organizations.
Constantine Sideridis is President and CEO of Ferro-Ceramic Grinding Inc., a Massachusetts-based firm specializing in advanced ceramic materials serving the semiconductor, medical, aerospace, defense, and electronics industries worldwide. He has an extensive record of civic, philanthropic, and Hellenic leadership, including service as a trustee, advisor, and board member to numerous educational, scientific, and community organizations. Sideridis is deeply involved in the Greek Orthodox Church, notably as an Archon by the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s Order of Saint Andrew, as a founding member of The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation, and as a fulfilled member of Leadership 100; and several Greek American organizations. He has been recognized for his leadership and service within the Greek American community.
In addition to welcoming its newest members, AHI extends its sincere thanks to the following Board members for their invaluable contributions as they retire from the Board: Violetta Kapsalis Buhler, Esq.; Georgea Polizos; and George Tsetsekos, Ph.D. Their leadership, dedication, and years of service have played an important role in advancing AHI’s mission and strengthening the Institute.
