AHI Staff Meets With Deon Policy Institute

WASHINGTON, DC - On Wednesday, February 14, 2024, AHI Executive Director Zac Cotronakis, Legislative Director Alexander Christofor, and AHI intern Christina Salemme met with the Executive Director and Co-Founder of the Deon Policy Institute, Afroditi Xydi, at the Hellenic House in Washington, D.C.

The Deon Policy Institute focuses on utilizing the skills and experience of the Hellenic diaspora to create policy recommendations and reports on important issues. They also promote “a sense of unity and shared purpose among all Greeks in the diaspora.” The Deon Policy Institute was founded by Greek academics, entrepreneurs, and young professionals across the world.

In their meeting, they discussed issues pertaining to the Greek American community and how these issues were addressed in Washington, D.C. They also discussed factors contributing to the continually strengthening relationship between the U.S. and Greece and the U.S. and the Republic of Cyprus.
