AHI Celebrates Greek Independence Day at the White House

WASHINGTON - The American Hellenic Institute (AHI) proudly participated in the White House ceremony commemorating the 204th anniversary of Greek Independence Day on March 24, 2025. President Donald J. Trump and His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America officiated the event. 

Several AHI and AHI Foundation representatives attended the celebration, including AHI President Nick Larigakis, AHI Board Chairman James Lagos, and AHI Foundation Board Chairman Leon Andris. AHI Board Members Kostas Alexakis, Demitrios Halakos, Ted Argeroplos, Violetta Kapsalis Buhler, Demitrios Halakos, Yanni Sianis, and Maria Wills, and AHI Foundation Board Member John Alahouzos, joined in attendance. 

During the ceremony, President Trump issued a proclamation honoring Greek Independence Day in the United States, reaffirming the strong ties between the two nations and celebrating the contributions of Greek Americans.
