AHI Commends Rep. Pappas for Introducing Legislation to Extend Cyprus Arms Prohibition Renewal Period

WASHINGTON - The American Hellenic Institute (AHI) commends Congressman Chris Pappas (D-NH) for introducing H.R.4413, which would extend the renewal period for the lifting of arms prohibitions on the Republic of Cyprus from one year to five years. If enacted, this legislation will be an important step towards ending permanent restrictions on the sale of arms to the Republic of Cyprus.
In addition to AHI, this legislation is supported by the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA), the Hellenic American Leadership Council (HALC), the American Jewish Committee (AJC), and the International Coordinating Committee for Justice for Cyprus (PSKEA).
