AHI Hosts 21st Annual Golf Classic With Successful Day of Activities

FAIRFAX, VA — The American Hellenic Institute (AHI) hosted its 21th Annual Golf Classic at the Country Club of Fairfax on October 21, 2024. The event took place with excellent weather conditions and a high turnout of over 72 golfers.
The day began with a sports panel featuring remarks by special guest Steve Buckhantz, former Washington sports commentator, who headlined the breakfast sports panel moderated by AHI president Nick Larigakis. Remarks were also provided by Parias Karasso representing Calamos Investments.
“We are happy that our 21th annual Golf Classic was a great success. We appreciate all our sponsors who contributed to this event, which helps fund AHI’s mission” President Larigakis said. “It was another fantastic time for colleagues and friends to gather in friendly competition and to enjoy insightful conversation about the sports industry during the breakfast panel.”
The team of: Peter Marketos, Gustavo Leal, William Irain, and Leif Ackerman captured first-place honors. Rod Stanlar, Tim Olsen, Rob Keith, and Rick Vanderhyde teamed-up to place second. The third-place team included: Nick Larigakis, Constantine Larigakis, John Brazer, and Tommy Greene.
Larigakis added, “We especially appreciate the support of tournament sponsor, Calamos Investments. Their support enables our tournament to be successful. We are also grateful for the participation of our special guest, Steve Buckhantz, who brought a very interesting perspective to our sports discussion and lively Q&A.”
