AHI President Larigakis Meets with U.S. Ambassador to Greece Guilfoyle

WASHINGTON, D.C. — American Hellenic Institute (AHI) President and CEO Nick Larigakis met with U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle on September 2, 2026, at the U.S. ambassador’s residence in Athens.

During the meeting, Larigakis and Ambassador Guilfoyle discussed the strong and enduring relationship between the United States and Greece and recent developments in the region.

Following the meeting, Ambassador Guilfoyle highlighted the importance of AHI and the Greek-American diaspora in a September 3 post on X.

“It was a pleasure to reunite with Nick Larigakis, President and CEO of the American Hellenic Institute, to exchange views on our strong U.S.-Greece relationship and the enduring importance of diaspora ties between our countries. AHI and the Greek-American diaspora play a vital role in strengthening the enduring bonds between our two great nations and advancing the extraordinary U.S.-Greece partnership,” Ambassador Guilfoyle wrote on X.

Larigakis also commended Ambassador Guilfoyle for her efforts to maintain the relationship at a high level, particularly through her initiatives on energy development.

“I appreciated the opportunity to meet with Ambassador Guilfoyle,” Larigakis said. “Greece remains an important strategic partner of the United States, and AHI will continue to advocate for policies that strengthen this vital relationship and advance our shared interests and values.”

Larigakis also briefed Ambassador Guilfoyle on AHI’s ongoing work in Washington and Athens and its longstanding efforts to promote a strong U.S.-Greece relationship and advance the rule of law. They agreed to continue their ongoing collaboration in support of even stronger ties between the United States and Greece.
