AHIF Calls for Papers: The American Journal of Contemporary Hellenic Issues, Volume 16

No. 42

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The American Hellenic Institute Foundation (AHIF) calls for papers for The American Journal of Contemporary Hellenic Issues (AJCHI), Volume 16 (2026), edited by Dr. Constantine G. Hatzidimitriou. Scheduled for publication in Fall 2026, this forthcoming volume will offer a comprehensive exploration of Hellenic history, culture, language, politics, society, and contemporary issues affecting Greece and the global Greek community.

In recognition of UNESCO’s honoring of the Greek language as a universal language, Volume 16 will feature a special section dedicated to the Greek language and its enduring influence throughout the world, including its historical development, linguistic legacy, and continuing role within the global Greek diaspora.

Scholars, researchers, educators, graduate students, and independent authors are invited to submit proposals and manuscripts that contribute to the understanding of Hellenic civilization and contemporary Hellenic affairs.

Submission Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit either a one-page proposal or a completed manuscript by August 20, 2026. Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.

Manuscripts should be submitted in English and in Microsoft Word format, following the Chicago Manual of Style and using endnotes only. A brief 50–100 word biographical note should accompany all submissions.

Recommended lengths are 7,000–8,000 words for scholarly articles, 1,000–2,000 words for book reviews, and 2,500–3,500 words for shorter articles and essays. The journal also welcomes submissions to “Emerging Voices of Greek America,” featuring the work of college students and early-career scholars.
